November 16, 2025, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church joyfully celebrates 50 Years of Grace, marking half a century of ministry, faith, and service to the Downers Grove community. As we give thanks for all God has done through our congregation since 1975, we also continue our journey of renewal and rebuilding following the devastating fire on July 29, 2024, that damaged our church and academy facilities at 525 63rd Street.

Though the fire rendered our buildings unusable, our mission to Grow in the Word and Go with the Word has remained steadfast. God’s faithfulness—and the love and support of our members, neighbors, and partner congregations—has sustained us as we look ahead to the next 50 years of ministry.
